The Moment Seizes Us: Study abroad in Turku, Finland

April - Just a sense of accomplishment

April also means that I was close to wrapping up my work at school. Four months with the students was enough to build a lot of connections with them. Both my grandparents were teachers for more than thirty years, and they would always tell me about their accomplishing moments. I could not relate until now.

On a student’s birthday, she saved me chocolate and gave it to me after the class. She said: I want you to have it because you are my favorite teacher.

When I took a group from a class for an English practice session, one group asked me if I can spend more time with their class every week.

I had Easter egg hunting with second graders. Two students shared their prize with me.

With those little things, I simply feel that all the cold mornings and long hours revising lesson plans are all worth it.
